History of SCAMPS
SCAMPS YOUTH COMPANY was established in 1982 when a young talented drama student asked a well known leading lady of the stage to help him with costumes for a school production.
Barbara Herd was delighted to oblige, and decided there should be a youth company in Wilmslow to harness the wealth of young music and drama talent.
The society has brought the pick of the crop of sensational Broadway hits to Wilmslow for over 25 years giving a generation of young talent a taste of the magic of show business.
Lavish musicals have thrilled packed audiences, who raise the rafters with applause and appreciation, and come back for more, year after year.
SCAMPS has provided a platform for young people of the area to achieve their dreams and ambitions. Over the years they have seen past members take on careers in show business, from bands, camera men, set designers, television, cabaret and the West End.
